Founded by Mark González.
Run for a community.
Founded by Liverpool FC and Chile international Mark González. A South Florida nonprofit launching in 2026.
Soccer that changes lives.
The Legend Star Foundation is launching in 2026 as a community-funded, South-Florida-rooted nonprofit. We’re building toward free youth clinics, scholarships, and equipment access for young players in the region. Our work aspires to support UN Sustainable Development principles around health, education, opportunity, and inclusive community.
Once programs launch, free clinics, scholarships, and mentoring will be the primary vehicles for the work. The Foundation is the umbrella under which the Academy and the Events will eventually operate.
Mark González
A career defined by speed and precision at football's highest levels.
Mark González played at the highest levels of European football — Liverpool FC at Anfield, Real Betis in La Liga, CSKA Moscow in the Champions League, and the Chilean national team. 56 caps. 6 international goals. Copa América 2016 winner. 17 professional seasons. A career that took him from South America to the Premier League and back, with the conviction that the game itself can change a community.
Today Mark brings that perspective home to South Florida — the Foundation, the Academy, and the Events are being built to serve the next generation. His philosophy is simple: the player and the person develop together, or not at all.

Building our community network.
The Foundation is in conversation with South Florida community organizations focused on youth development, mentoring, and soccer. Specific partnerships will be announced as they’re confirmed.
If your organization works with South Florida youth in soccer, mentoring, or community development, we’d like to talk.
